About Connie

Through her studies and personal research and experience in the fields of ADHD, Autism, Giftedness, and Twice-Exceptional (2e), Connie provides a unique perspective on therapy for individuals, couples, families, children, and teens.

As a wife and mother of young adult sons, Connie has personal experiences involving diagnoses of ADHD, Autism, Giftedness, and Twice-Exceptional. Prior to pursuing her Master’s Degree, she attended national and regional professional conferences on these topics, learning how each impacts both the individual and the entire family. Her personal research, experience, and these conferences confirmed her resolve to become a therapist.

In addition to the studies of ADHD, Autism, and Giftedness, Connie has been certified and/or received special training in the following:

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) - trained at the Beck Institute of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, recognized internationally for its CBT research and training
  • Play Therapy - trained under Paris Goodyear-Brown, LCSW, RPT-S
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) - externship training in EFT
  • PREPARE/ENRICH - certified in the customized parenting and couple assessment program for parenting, premarital and marital counseling

Connie currently holds a license in Marital and Family Therapy in the state of Tennessee (LMFT #1035).

Connie earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University. She completed her internship at LifeCare Family Services in Nashville and Franklin, Tennessee, working with a wide spectrum of clients, including individuals, couples, and families.

Connie enjoys time with her spouse and young adult sons, as well as her four-legged family members; reading; research; gardening; and community theatre. Prior to the arrival of her children, Connie spent twelve years in television, a field in which she earned national recognition as a producer/director of children’s programming and documentaries.
